Whistleblower Channel
A confidential channel to report serious wrongdoing by ILSI staff or partners — fraud, corruption, abuse, or safeguarding failures.
This channel is for reporting serious wrongdoing connected to ILSI itself — for example, fraud, corruption, abuse of a member, safeguarding failures, or a serious breach of our code of conduct by a director, employee, or corridor partner acting on ILSI's behalf. For general dissatisfaction with a service, use our complaints process instead.
Confidentiality
You may submit a report anonymously. If you choose to give your name, it is shared only with the small, named team responsible for reviewing whistleblower reports, and is never disclosed to the person or team you are reporting without your explicit consent, except where ILSI is legally compelled to disclose it.
How your report is handled
- Reports are submitted through an encrypted form and stored on access-controlled systems.
- Only a designated whistleblower review team — kept deliberately small and independent of day-to-day corridor operations — can read the report.
- Reports naming a Board member or senior executive are routed to an independent Board committee member instead of the executive team.
- You will receive an acknowledgement, and where you have provided a way to contact you, updates on the outcome to the extent confidentiality allows.
What happens next
Credible reports trigger a formal investigation, which may include interviews, document review, and, where wrongdoing involves potential criminal conduct, referral to law enforcement in the relevant country. Outcomes can include disciplinary action, termination of a partner relationship, or referral for prosecution.
Non-retaliation
ILSI will not tolerate retaliation of any kind against anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith, whether they are a member, an employee, or a partner organisation's staff member. Retaliation against a whistleblower is itself treated as serious misconduct under our code of conduct.
What good faith means
You do not need to be certain that wrongdoing has occurred to make a report — you need only a genuine, reasonable belief based on what you have seen or experienced. Reports that turn out, after investigation, to be mistaken are not penalised provided they were made honestly. What is not protected is a report made maliciously or knowingly false, though in practice this is rare and is only concluded after a full investigation, not assumed at the outset.
If you are not sure this is the right channel
If you are unsure whether your concern belongs here or in our complaints process, submit it through whichever channel you find first — ILSI's review team will route it correctly. If your concern is about an employer or recruiter rather than ILSI itself, see report a recruiter instead.
