ILSI — International Legal Support and Investment

Investment Pipeline

Corridor-level investment opportunities connecting responsible returnee investment and national development, for development-finance and impact investors.

ILSI's development pillar depends on capital as well as policy — from development-finance institutions, diaspora investment funds and impact investors willing to co-finance the mechanisms that turn safe migration into national development.

What sits in the pipeline

Pipeline opportunities are built around ILSI's corridor masterplans and our work on responsible investment for returnee workers. They may include vehicles for channelling remittances into vetted small enterprise or cooperative investment, co-financing arrangements for reintegration infrastructure, and corridor-level programme financing aligned with the Nepal pilot.

How to engage

Development-finance institutions, diaspora investment funds and impact investors interested in the pipeline should contact ILSI to arrange an initial conversation with our development finance team, who can share current opportunities aligned to your mandate and geography.

Why capital needs to follow protection, not replace it

ILSI deliberately sequences its development-finance engagement behind, not ahead of, its worker protection work in a given corridor. Investment capital directed toward a corridor where recruitment and workplace protections are weak risks reinforcing the very problems ILSI exists to address — for example, financing infrastructure built partly on exploited labour. Investors engaging with ILSI's pipeline can expect corridor-level protection indicators, drawn from our data hub, to be part of the due diligence conversation from the outset.

Aligning with development mandates

Because ILSI's pipeline opportunities are built around specific corridor masterplans rather than generic thematic funds, they are often well suited to development-finance institutions and diaspora investment funds with an explicit labour migration, remittance, or origin-country development mandate, rather than institutions seeking a purely commercial return uncoupled from development outcomes. Initial conversations are exploratory and non-binding, intended to establish whether a fit exists before either party commits further time and resource to a specific opportunity in the pipeline, and can be arranged with as much or as little detail shared upfront as an interested institution prefers, whether that is a general introduction to ILSI's development approach or a specific opportunity already under active consideration by your own institution's investment committee.
