Annual Reports
ILSI publishes an annual report covering its activities, corridor performance, and finances, so members and partners can see how the institution is doing.
Each year, ILSI's Board of Directors approves an annual report and makes it publicly available. The report is written for a wide audience — members, governments, employers, and development-finance partners — and is structured so that each can find what matters to them.
What the annual report covers
- Membership growth and casework activity by corridor.
- Outcomes from legal protection cases, without identifying any individual member.
- Progress on the Nepal pilot and any corridor masterplans in delivery.
- Governance changes, including any changes to the Board or Advisory Council.
- Financial stewardship, including how member contributions and donor or development-finance funding were used.
As ILSI's pilot programme matures, published reports will be listed and archived on this page for public download. Governments and institutional partners needing an earlier or interim update can request a briefing directly.
Why we report this way
Many organisations working in labour migration report primarily to their donors or their government regulator. ILSI's annual report is written to also be genuinely useful to members and to the general public, in plain language wherever possible, because members and the workers ILSI serves have as much right to understand how the institution is performing as any funder does. Where a corridor's results have fallen short of what was planned — for example, slower-than-expected reintegration uptake, or a rise in a particular type of casework — the report is expected to say so directly, alongside what ILSI intends to do about it.
Independent review
Financial statements within the annual report are subject to independent audit consistent with ILSI's constitution, described in legal status. Non-financial claims, such as casework outcomes, are checked against ILSI's own case management records before publication.
Making the report accessible
ILSI publishes the annual report in the languages spoken by its main membership base wherever practical, alongside a short plain-language summary, recognising that not every reader, including many of our own members, needs a lengthy technical document to understand how the institution performed over the year. Where results fall short of what was planned, the report is expected to say so plainly rather than burying it in technical language, since a report members cannot understand fails at its basic purpose regardless of how thorough it is.
